Dear Friends of the Munich Re Foundation,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

The first heat waves have already hit Western Europe, many regions of China and Southeast Asia are currently exposed to extreme temperatures, parts of North America are already suffering from droughts in early summer and have to deal with severe forest fires. And for the East African coast, meteorologists fear a higher number of extreme weather events this year and next due to the emerging weather phenomenon El Niño.

One thing is certain: people all over the world must prepare themselves for weather extremes, societies must become more robust against climate hazards. With our projects, we want to contribute to making affected population groups more resilient. Through events and conferences, we want to share knowledge and stimulate discussion, as well as initiate new networks. Read more about our activities in the past months.
