Dear readers, dear friends of the foundation, |
|
20 years ago, the Munich Re Foundation was established on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of its benefactress. Munich Re has been dealing with global risks since 1880. The transfer of knowledge was a central motive for the establishment of the foundation: Those who have a lot of knowledge also bear responsibility. Those who act responsibly must share their knowledge and take action.
The foundation's motto ‘From Knowledge to Action’ has accompanied us in our project work since then. Especially in times of major social change and crises, be it violent conflicts, threats to democracy or climate change, it remains as important as ever: knowledge alone is not enough! Expertise must be translated into concrete action in order to overcome social challenges and make them sustainable.
Our project work aims to build precisely this bridge between knowledge and action. We want to enable effective measures and bring relevant stakeholders into dialogue. You can get involved now by, for example, submitting a paper for the International Conference on Inclusive Insurance or participating in our next Dialogue Forum (8 April). You can find information on this and other activities in the newsletter and in the 2024 annual report. We hope you find it a stimulating read!
